LAZY - mouse Lazy is the great new band from Arnhem based duo Wouter and Lorena. The great thing is: They only have one song! It's called Mouse and here you can download the free MP3. They are looking for a great venue to present their song for a live audience for the very first time. We'll keep you informed if a place is found and a date is set. In the meantime check out their space on myspace.com/lazyndugu |

SAMPLER- SFTN005 CD-R Our sampler. Given away FOR FREE with every order. Given away at concerts. Given away at casual meetings with unknown people. It's very good but you have to like lots of different styles of music, because it includes gay disco (Autorace ft. Sandra), west-coast indie-pop (The Heights), elephant-6-style pretty weirdness (Marigold), electro-pop weirdness (Mel.Hot, Short Distance Memory), reggae-post-punk-meets-kurt-weil (Lushus), blueswithout the boredom (Real Carburetor) , a lost 60's classic made in the 90's (Eronika), a slightly slick and sick ballad (Furtips), crooked art-wave (BRIS) and an over-the-top-stop-start popsong (Young pilots). Since all these names above link to the mp3's, there is NO REAL NEED FOR YOU to ask us for the sampler or chat us up at parties, just download the bunch and thank us in your prayers. Here is a big (576 kb) jpeg of the sleeve. |

SHORT DISTANCE MEMORY: IDIOT- SFTN004 CD-R 14 short, sinister and hooky electro-pop songs. Quite simple and minimal, but infinitely more interesting and honest than the bloody retro-ironic-blablabla stuff which is considered "en vogue" these days. Will we be able to sell millions of it by saying it sounds like Syd Barret with very cheap software? stay (listen) their space on myspace.com/shortdistancememory |

FURTIPS: WE ARE COMMUNICATIONS - SFTN003 CD The fourth real full-length album from this dutch cult-pop-band and hey; for the first time on a dutch label. Weirder, darker and catchier than ever. Post-punk, okay, but there's nothing stylish or stylized about this bunch of a-hundred-ideas- per-minute eccentrics. The only real new-wave classic from 2005? deconstruction love (listen) I would rather be catholic now (listen) Their website |

ERONIKA: SEVENTEEN EARLY SYMPHONIES - SFTN002
CD-R This band only really existed in 1995, but that year they peaked in an incredible way. Writing and recording about 20 songs in a feverish haze, Erik Karel de Vries, Ionika Aalders and Esther Ey tried to capture the golden sounds of Hollywood musicals but to their own surprise ended up sounding like a mutated crossing of Burt Bacharach and Thinking Fellers Union Local 282. Jazzy and spooky, dumb lyrics and instantly sing-along tunes galore. satanic verse (listen) |

BRIS: THEN RUSSIA INVENTED SPACE E.P. -
SFTN001 CD-R On the brink of splitting up, Pieter Wackers and Melissa Molenschot recorded four songs in 2004. Their "Before Russia Invented Space" was in existence for a month, when the end was already near. Luckily these four gems are saved. Beat Happening comes to mind, as does Red Crayola. Pieter serves you with a fantastic rap on "Faint bruise", and what the hell is happening in "Takahashi's brilliant return to form"? kissproof (listen) |
